Hello!  Thanks for reading my monthly newsletter / blog.  The past 2 months have been stressful and has fatigued my mind and body to a point that I did not want to write to this News / Blog.  I often think “who’s reading this anyway?”  It’s good for me to write, it helps, plus this will all pay off later down the road.  Anyway, I was going through so many thoughts mentally, emotionally and overall all that I just wanted to curl up and drink 151 all day and say $*%& the world.  Nah…I’m Shawn Banks, blessed and highly favored and can never just curl up and curse at the world.  There are a lot of times where people face trials and tribulations, but how you react to the trials and tribulations makes the difference.  In June I was dealing with what am I going to do since I have a layoff notice, how am I gonna pay the mortgage; yada yada.  I suffered 2 blows to my career in the May-July time frame. I got the layoff notice from corporate America then the TV show America’s Got Talent on NBC did not show my set, because they like selecting gimmicks and untalented people.  I am appreciative of the little bit they did show of me, but they cannot and will not stop me.  Though I faced some rough spots in the last few months, I am doing just fine and happy to go through a little bit of a struggle every now and then.  It makes us stronger. 

I want to say thanks to everyone that supported my shows in June and July and all the kind words and DVD / CD sales (much appreciated).  Also, thanks to versatile entertainment for booking me on the 4^th of July weekend show with Bruce Bruce at the Bob Carr Theatre. Thanks to everyone that makes Shawn Banks possible. LOL!  Holla!!!!
